History of the college

Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing will continue to be ahead of the times and connect that role to the future.
1890.04 Training nurses was started at Japanese Red Cross Hospital.
2001.04 Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing was founded.
2007.04 Graduate school of nursing was founded at Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing.
2009.10 Midwifery course at graduate school of nursing was authorized by Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
2010.06 Emergency Nursing Certified Nurse Curriculum was started at Nursing Continuing Education Center.
2012.09 Ceremony to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding was held.
2012.12 Comprehensive cooperation agreement was signed with Nishi Nippon Newspaper Company.
2013.04 Nursing Research Centre for International Programs and Services was opened.
2016.03 This college was certified as conforming to university standards by Japan University Accreditation Association.
2016.04 Graduate School of Joint Nursing Doctoral Program was founded.
2016.07 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: University Education Regeneration Acceleration Program [Theme V: Strengthening quality assurance efforts at the time of graduation] was adopted.
2017.03 Specialized nurse curriculum (Critical care nursing and home nursing) at Graduate School of Nursing Department of Nursing Master’s Course was certificated by Japan Nursing University Council.
2017.05 Ms. Akiko ITO who had finished Graduate school 1st term was awarded the 46thFlorence Nightingale Medal.
2018.04 Graduate School Lecture Rooms and Laboratories were moved to the new place.
2019.05 Ms. Kikuko TAKESHITA, former president of this college was awarded the 47th Florence Nightingale Medal.
2020.07 Regional Cooperation Education Center was newly opened by integrating Regional Cooperation Office and Nursing Continuing Education Center.

To commemorate the great achievements of Nightingale, who contributed to the improvement of nursing for the sick and injured and laid the foundation for modern nursing in the spirit of humanity, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC gives this award to those who have made remarkable achievements in nursing activities. Florence Nightingale Medal is the most prestigious one in the world in the field of nursing.
Her Majesty, who is Honorary Governor of the Japanese Red Cross Society, awards Japanese winners.
