Curriculum

Curriculum constructs

At our university, the main concepts that form the basis of curriculum organization are human environment, health, and international nursing. Based on these five key concepts, students will learn the following things.

Nursing

Based on a deep understanding of human beings and management of the dignity of life, students will acquire the knowledge and skills that can respect and support individuality to promote the health of individuals and groups. Mainly in lectures and seminars, supportive human relationships, comprehensive understanding of human society, and health are used to assist people in the process of recovering, maintaining, and promoting their desired health condition, or in the process of leading to dignified death for dignified death. Students will learn how to discover and study issues in the scientific analysis of problems, the nursing skills supported by them, and nursing practices and practices.

Students will learn on the essence of human beings, the dignity of life, and the human social environment. As a living being who lives an irreplaceable life, they will acquire an attitude of respecting each and every human being.

Environment

To acquire the ability to observe relationships with natural environment and the social environment that affects and changes all aspects of human existence, including human lifestyles, thoughts, emotions, and health, students will acquire the ability to learn and consider concepts and theories related to politics, economy, culture, education, health, medical care, and welfare.

Health

To achieve the basic purpose of nursing, which is the state in which humans are adapting in their interaction with the environment, that is, “health”, students will acquire the ability to understand indicators of health-related events such as health recovery, maintenance, promotion and relationship between living behavior, health disorders and their recovery process, and statistical data by learning health-related concepts, theories, and research methods.

Global Society

Based on the humanitarian spirit, which is the basic principle of the Red Cross, students will foster knowledge, skills and imagination that enable proper nursing activities, even in situations with different cultural backgrounds and social conditions or in emergencies. Students will learn about the organization and achievements of the Red Cross, which has the longest history of activity as an international non-profit organization based on the spirit of humanity, and internalize that spirit.
In the international activities of the Red Cross and in nursing practice in a society that strengthens the degree of multiculturalism, as a basic force to play a core role, students will acquire communication skills including foreign language skills, information processing skills to know the international situation and the state of health care in the world, and cross-cultural understanding skills. As a basic ability to demonstrate leadership as a nursing profession, students will learn about international development, understanding and practice of international cooperation, global health care situation and primary health care.

Classification of lesson subjects

Class subjects are organized as follows based on five main concepts.

Liberal arts & specialized basic subject
Liberal arts are the “knowledge” of humankind that we should learn over a lifetime, and by acquiring these, the human power to live as a human being is formed. With this human power as the basic power, students will study the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, which are the basis of nursing specialized subjects as specialized basic subjects.
Specialized basic subject. Natural science system. Human Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, Biology / Chemistry, Infection and Antibacterial, Human Body and Drugs, Diseases and Treatment,
Social science system. Sociology and Nursing, Social Welfare, Statistics, Health Statistics, Gender Theory, International Development Theory, etc.
Human sciences. Philosophy, Bioethics, Psychology, Medical Introduction, Medical Anthropology, etc.
Liberal arts Relationship Theory, Academic Writing, Presentation Skills, Basic Skills Comprehensive Seminar, Health Behavior Theory, Nutrition, English, French, Spanish, Korean, Red Cross activity, Volunteer Theory, etc.
Specialized subject.
Specialized subjects are subjects for studying and researching nursing practice as an integrated theory and practice.
Specialized subject. The foundation of nursing Positioned as the foundation of nursing practice, “Introduction to Nursing Science” and “Basics of Nursing Theory” are set as the essence of assistance based on the concept of nursing and human dignity. In addition, as practice subjects for learning nursing methods common to all nursing situations, “Nursing Skills”, “Physical Assessment”, “Nursing Process”, and as practical training subjects, “Daily Life Support Training”, “development of nursing process” “Practice” etc. will be provided.
Development and application of nursing. Positioned as a group of subjects that develops and applies subjects based on the foundation of nursing, we will maintain and improve health, prevent and treat diseases, and die peacefully for certain individuals and groups at all life stages in various places. “Chronic Care Nursing”, “Gerontological Nursing”, “Maternal Nursing”, “Pediatric Nursing”, “Critical Care”, “Home Nursing”, “Mental Health Nursing”, “Community Nursing”, etc. are set as subjects necessary for assistance. Furthermore, practical training courses corresponding to these courses are set.
Nursing integration. Positioned as a group of subjects that integrates the knowledge of nursing practice and other studies that have already been learned, as a subject to improve one’s own nursing and acquire basic and applied abilities that will contribute to the development of future nursing practice from a global perspective. “International Health and Nursing”, “Disaster Nursing”, “Nursing Policies”, “Risk Management in Nursing”, “Nursing Education”, “Nursing Research Method”, “Nursing Research”, etc. will be established.
Public health nurse (Elective subjects) Positioned as the basis of public health nurse activities, as a subject to build health through a high quality life, not only for individuals but also for local communities, “Public Health Nursing” and “Public Health Nursing Training” are set to acquire the ability to grasp the outline of the area and execute the facility.
